Valuation
Supply
& Demand based value
This 3rd main category is really the most basic of
all. All of the other variables will only provide a
static view of the value of a domain. Meaning, up until
now we have merely assessed a domain in absolute terms
– with no relevance to the current market. The exact
same domain name will not be worth the same thing as
it is now in 10 years from now. As the Internet becomes
more valuable and populated, domain names will become
more valuable. Good indicators for this category might
be the number of users of the Internet at the given
time (correlated positively – demand side) and the number
of registered domain names (also correlated positively
– more names registered = shrinking supply).
